I realize I must keep this new Op System as many BlackBerry Apps run on this system (OS 6 or higher) but it has given me many problems with hours of research & work to correct problems & make changes.
06/16/2011 Techs at Sprint Store said update would take 2 hours.
They never told me to backup my Phone as many things would change.
Techs said update would correct many bugs in Phone; uncaught exceptions, freezing & spontaneous rebooting.
•Phone runs exceptionally slow: using Menu Key, Opening Apps, Surfing Internet, Downloading & Uninstalling Apps, etc.
•Phone still freezes; most of time freeze takes 5 + minutes and many times I must remove battery to reboot.
•Still get uncaught exceptions
•Software previously deleted came back permanently.
•Software Icons won't delete permanently; they come back after a Device Reboot. Must keep deleting them in Service Book as I don't like them showing up in my App File. Facebook, Podcasts, Sprint Music Store, Yahoo Messenger, GoogleTalk, Windows Live Messenger, Scanbuy
•Bookmarks now have more permanent (unable to delete)Bookmark Files
>don't like "Open Tray" Feature
>Home Screen doesn't show Wallpaper good
>Voicemails contantly show up a day or more (24+ hours) later. *EXAMPLE: Just now, June 23rd 6:00pm, Led lite started flashing red & Voicemail Message Icon just showed up; Message was from 1:00pm on June 22nd.
>Voicemail Message Icon always shows up in Text Messages Folder (The Icon does also correctly show up in Messages & Phone Folders)
>Many lost their associated Picture.
>Several lost their "Silent" Ringer; had to reset it.
>Many lost their special Ringer & recived a crappy ringer not comparable to old Ringer.
•Ringer Media Load OS6 replaced Ringer Media Load OS5; got many lousy/crappy ringers not comparable with previous Media Load.
•Ringer Music Files Corrupted: (Music from CDs I downloaded onto Media Card)
>When adding Music as Ringers for certain contacts:
1) No longer can I choose to View songs: by Album, by Artist, by Genre, etc.
2) The View is only by Tracks; most are unnamed. I have 389 songs (tracks) downloaded on Media Card and to scroll thru.
3) If an album has various artists it on lists as (ie 01 Track 1 to 15 Track 11). I only have download 10 CDs with various artists; so some of the unnamed tracks are by other particular artists.
3) Most of Untitled Tracks in "All Music" Ringer Files Play Preview plays & shows same song title (The Violin Player), although Properties will show Album's actual name; but only when saved in contact it will play whatever its supposed to.
•Picture Files & Folders:
> Pictures are now more complicated to move.
>Can't sort Pictures in Folders.
>View by Picture Folders includes a picture preview (don't like preview showing)
>Creating Folders in Picture Files are now defaulted into Device Files rather than Media Card. (Didn't catch this at 1st & saved many folders to device in error .)
>Deleted File Folder (Music CDs to Buy) keeps showing up when viewing files in Picture App or Exploring Media, and also when moving Pictures from Camera File to Folders. Yet when I decided to rename folder; it said file not found.
On 3rd BlackBerry Phone in under 2 years.
•BlackBerry Bold problems started just 1 month after purchase. Only option now if can't be fixed is to trade it in for exact same model as this is the best BlackBerry Model that Sprint sells or go backwards to Curve Model.
•Had BlackBerry Tour for a little over 6 months before it totally crashed. Would only open to Sprint Logo turn on screen. Couldn't transfer any data; I lost everything. It too, was doing uncaught exceptions, running slow & freezing so much that I could only remove the battery to reboot Device. Tried everything to backup & download from this Phone before trading it in.
•Had BlackBerry Curve 8330 for less than 4 mos before Charging Port broke. Had to get an extra battery and buy a Battery Charger. Nothing from this Phone could be transferred to Tour; Techs even tried to transfer via Blue Tooth. Used it for 9 mos.
It would seem I'm not lucky with BlackBerry Phones especially as I'm on my 3rd BlackBerry but I'm determined to stick with them (otherwise I would lose the money I've invested in their products/software along with Phone replacement/trade in insurance).
Any recommendations, suggestions and/or input is much appreciated.
