Up for purchase is thisNew Old StockSony MVA-380 Microscope Camera Adaptor with Box, Instruction Book, Remote Controller, Foot Switch and Cables. All in mint, unused condition. Taken out of box and packaging only to verify contents and to photograph. This unit was very expensive when new; these were sold to hospitals andhad a price tag of well over $10,000.
From the instruction manual: The Sony MVA-380 is a microscope adaptor for use in connecting Zeiss OPMI series operation microscope or others to a Sony video camera and to a 35mm SLR camera. You can observe the subject on a video monitor, record it with a video recorder or take pictures. Using the supplied remote controller, you can adjust the focus of the MVA-380 at a distance, and confirm how many exposures remain on the film inserted in the SLR camera. The supplied foot switch allows you to select the video camera or the SLR camera as the image destination.
The supplied camera adaptorhas aContax bayonet mount; other mounts were available from Sony for this unit.For a 35mm SLR camera to work correctly with the MVA-380,the cameramust have Aperture Priority AE. I would imagine that a digital SLR camera could easily be used with this unitby usingthe correct lens mount for your camera(not included).
