This is an Original item from the 1953 movie that was used in a newspaper or magazine, for an ad for the movie \"Stalag 17\" starring William Holden.
Printing plate, mounted on wood block the same height as printing type. (Type high)
Condition: Used, printable, with some ink residue, as shown in photo(s). Note: some wear in spots, rubbing, bottom line of type corroded.
Approx. Size: 2-5/8\" x 2-5/8\" - The number 5757 is imprinted on one end of the block.
I did a reverse of one of the original photos in a photo editing program so you can see approximately what it would look like when printed on a letterpress printing press.
Zinc Printing plate, mounted on wood block, the same height as metal type. (Type High)
