DescriptionI have sold a lot of these on and I just got another batch in it takes a few months for shipping, get them fast here. Up for sale this week I have 5 Transistors that will fix your CDV 700 Victoreen or Lionel model 6 or ENI Geiger counter if they are bad, they take 2 or 3 so you get a couple extras. The middle wire is grounded to the transistorcase goes to B on the ENIcircuit board..You also should replace the black electrolytic capacitors you can message me with the size you have nowand I will tell you what size to substitute as it is very hard to find exact matching capacitors.. The original transistors develop and grow whiskers inside and stop working over time this may be why your Geiger counter does not work.(see pics), or the capacitors go bad and they blow out the transitors.. I know they work in the Victoreen and Lionel and ENI model 6 counters. They may work in the other 700 models. I can\'t guarantee these will fix yours, you may have other problems but they fixed several of mine. If you can solder and use solder wick they are not that hard to change, just make sure you mark where the wires go back and take pictures. Thanks for looking and keep some spares!!!
Unfortunately, the tin plating that is applied to the base metal of the encapsulation exhibits the rather surprising phenomenon of growing whiskers that ultimately make contact with electrodes inside the can. These whiskers are many times thinner than a human hair, but they are able to pass a current that will interfere with the operation of the transistor.
