(one) Howden Roots rotary lobe vacuum blower , model 45U-RAI , new in 2016 . This unit has two problems. The first is the housing was gummed up with a material like hot melt adhesive . The second problem is that the housing flange got banged real hard . We took the unit apart to inspect both issues . We cleaned up much of the adhesive . Part of the flange broke off . The closest that the break comes to the inside of the chamber is ½” . This can probably hold pressure without fixing the flange .
