The Model705 is a low cost IEEE compatible scanner. Thebasicmainframe can accommodate two plug-in scanner cards. Each cardcan have different pole configurations. In the l-pole
configurationthe card has 20 channels, The 4-pole configurationallows 10channels with two cards (for four-wire ohms).
Using the“daisy chain” method the Model 705, along withfouradditional Model 705’s, can provide up to 100 2-polechannels.The time and the date are kept internally with a batterybacked upclock allowing time dependent procedures tobeperformed,
The controlson the front panel allow opening a selected channel,closing thechannel, scanning between a selectable firstand lastchannel, selectable scan rate and mode. There are 13internalprograms that are accessible from the front panel. Theprograms canselect primary address, dwell time, store a relayset up,recall the stored relay set up, control the digital l/Oport, switchfrom International to American date format, controlintervalstop/start and select I-, 2- or 4 pole measurementmodes.
The Model705 Scanner adheres to standard IEEE-488 interfacebusprotocol. This enables the Model 705 to be incorporatedinto anymeasurement system that uses programmedcontrolthrough the IEEE-488 bus.
