TT10-4 or TT10-4A Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)
(NOTE: TT10-4 and TT10-4A are identical parts!)This is a new production, OEM replacement part. It fits several \"made-in-China\" generator models. Always verify that this is the correct AVR for your unit by comparing the numbers inked onto the side of the part... there are lots of variations of these AVR\'s, and it is important to install the right one. This is the 3.5kW-rated regulator... we\'ve noticed that some folks sell a lower-rated 2.5kW regulator as a \"substitution\" - be very wary of a lower-power substitution. Also, this regulator is made by LiHua - one of the premier generator AVR manufacturers. Some folks are selling \"knock-off\" parts that are not made by LiHua... be very wary of this!!! The cheapo knock-off AVR\'s are very failure prone and can lead to serious damage to equipment.Important Note: TT10-4 and TT10-4A are identical parts - as long as they carry the 3.5kW rating. There are lower-rated variations of these regulators out there. We only sell the high-rated part. Some parts will be labelled TT10-4 others may be labelled TT10-4A... they are identical parts with identical ratings. LiHua makes these for us, but they like to leave the \"A\" off sometimes! Do you have a bad Voltage Regulator? Most regulators fail quite suddenly. One moment the unit is operating fine, the next moment there is a problem with the output voltage. Generally, the failure mode is that the generator will not produce AC voltage, however, in some cases, the AVR can fail in such a manner that the AC voltage is uncontrolled and running \"wide open\" at an excessively high level - usually around 150 - 175VAC. Sometimes, there is clear damage to the capacitor (large cylinder) or power transistor (on aluminum heat-sink tab), but usually the damage is not readily visible or apparent - especially on a potted module like this one. Occasionally, a voltage regulator will fail in such a manner that the voltage is \"wandering\" or suddenly low - around 90-100VAC instead of 120VAC - this is usually due to a failure-in-process of the power capacitor.Prior to replacing the voltage regulator, you should always flash the field on the generator since a loss of residual magnetism will prevent voltage from building up when the unit is started. Many technicians mistake a loss in residual magnetism for a failed AVR, and flashing the field first may save you the expense of purchasing an AVR that you really don\'t need. Also, oftentimes when an AVR fails, you will have to flash the field after replacing the regulator, since AVR failures can neutralize the residual magnetism. Follow the manufacturer\'s recommended procedures or use our JAM LABS E-Z FIELD FLASHER tool - see our store for this device which makes flashing the field on any generator a quick, simple and safe job.Not the one you are looking for? We also carry other voltage regulators used on Black Max, Husky, Homelite, John Deere, Power Stroke & Ridgid brand Generators - please visit our store!Unit ships after payment is cleared. Please, no international shipments. US only. Okay....Canada too. Uponreceiving the unit, if you have any questions or concerns, pleasecontact us immediately. We strive to keep our rating superior!
