This high vacuum manifold camefrom an early 1960s GE mass spectrometer leak detector. Stainless steel construction. The top orthimble that is filled with LN2 can be removed with four ¼ inch screws forcleaning. Includes inlet port, liquidnitrogen trap and connection to pumping. A KF type flange could be welded onto thestainless where the original ball valves were. There is also a cold cathode or Phillips typegauge off the LN2 trap. I used this some years ago, and all worked fine—novacuum leaks. No obvious damage to theelectrical feedthrough on the gauge. The LN2 trap holds only for 4 hours or so.
Large flangeon the bottom was the connection to the diffusion pump. However it is not indirect communication to the LN2 trap area. Please see photo. Original pumping path was DP to mass spec thorugh 2\" port and back to LN2 trap through 1\" port (azig-zag configuration…). You could openup from the DP flange (non standard!) tothe LN2 trap, or just saw this part off, and use a connection out the side
This weighs 111/2 lbs unpacked. Packed weight and bulkwill be higher in order to adequately protect it.
