This isa used ProCat Flash Electric Stenograph/Court Reportermachine. This steno typemachine is infair physical condition withscuffs, scratches, marks and normal signs of usage. The keys are dinged up,most likely from nailstapping against them. The top row has a foam-pad on it that can be removed if not needed. The tripod is ingood shape; it\'sstraight and opens and closes properly. All keys are standard width. There\'s a white knob on the back of the unit that adjusts the display contrast, the shaft is short but you should not need to adjust the contrast often.
This is a paperless machine, it does not print/type to paper, it records to memory or external real-time.

The menu buttons on the unit require a firm press, they all register but sometimes you must press firmly to get them to register. The machine powers on after holding the main power button for 1 second. It powers on with no issues and eventually goes into the main screen.The display ismissing one. Depending on the screen you are on, sometimes it appears, sometimes it doesn\'t.I was able to navigate through various menus and make changes on the unit with no issues. All steno keys register properly and appear on the display as they are pressed. The unit can record to memory card (PCMCIA?) as well as having a real-time port that can be connected to an external device (computer).
No software or drivers included with the unit, any experience technologist should be able to locate drivers for the USB-to-Serial adapter but I don\'t have any real-time software that can be used to record the notes.
Please note that this unit comes with a rechargeable battery; the battery is used so there are no guarantees on battery life or longevity. The battery was not tested and shows it was last rebuilt in 2011.
