This product is commonly seen on bar and table tops in many bars andrestaurants. 3D floors and jewelry
Application:
The product should be applied in two stages to clean surfaces. The first stage is called the seal coat. The seal coat is brushed on in a thin layer and is used to close all the pores in the surface and prevents air bubbles from forming in the next layer of the flow. This stage is accompanied by a coat of flow that will flow, and the level of self-organization, brushes or squeeges can be used to help distribute the epoxy. Coat of flow applied in 1/8\" layers at a time, as many as desired can be applied, however one to three coats is average for most table or bar coatings. Note: see the overlap between the layers below.Recoating/Between Layers:
Of overlap usually can be done within 4 to 8 hours. If re-coating during this period of time not to sand between layers. If your previous coat is completely dry, sandpaper with 220 or 320 sandpaper is recommended to achieve a good bonding surface. After sanding, wipe with a solvent such as alcohol, acetone or lacquer thinner to remove any impurities from the surface. (do not use mineral spirits)Objects such as drawings, maps, etc. can be imbedded in this product during the pours. Highest quality photographic paper does not require any special preparation however sometimes thin paper objects must be sealed with PVA glue or similar product to prevent koat as fully penetrating the paper and causing it to become transparent.Embedding solid objects (wood, stones, shells, etc.)
All porous materials should have a sealing layer of epoxy glue. This will avoid air bubbles occurs in the subsequent layers of thread. Usually objects can be ustanovlena place before sealing. Note: do not add more than 1/8\" on each casting.Working Conditions:
For best results, use product at a temperature of 70-80 degrees F. the room which you are working should be clean, dry, free of dust and insects. Deposition of dust can often cause spots on the mirror surface.Exterior Applications:
Please note that although this product will resist yellowing better than other epoxies it are 100% UV resistant.Treatment:
To see the coverage charts shown below to calculate the amount you will need for Your region. Remember not to combine printing and coating flood coat. Coats thread intended to go to about 1/8\" thick, which is about three times thicker than the seal coat. Example: a 6ft x 4ft bare wood table (2.4 sq m) will require 2 litres to complete one\'s skin, and about a gallon and a half to complete one layer of the flow to two liters.Beginners Notes:
This material leaves professional results when applied correctly so take your time and make sure to be wary of these common problems that we saw faced by the users.1. Always make sure that your mixing container is clean and your measuring device is accurate, this product must be mixed at a ratio of 1 to 1/2 by weight or volume, any variances from this can cause the epoxy to stay soft and not fully cure.
2. This product requires thorough mixing, usually between 3-4 minutes of solid mixing without excessive whipping of the mixture(whipping will put lots of air bubbles in the epoxy). The amount of more than one gallon at a time can take up to 6-7 minutes of mixing.
3. After the two components merge and stirring begins the mixture will become cloudy white color, this represents areas in which epoxy is not fully merged. You must continue to mix until all signs of cloudiness and a tiny white line is completely gone (usually takes 3-4 minutes for thorough mixing).
4. Always clean the walls of your mixing container and stick during those 3-4 minutes. If UNMIXED epoxy remains on the side of the container or the stick it will cause wet spots on your finished product if that UNMIXED material falls into your project......Response: while pouring your epoxy onto the surface do not clean the container to remove every last drop, because no matter how careful mixthere will always be the undisputed fall on the side of the container, which will leave a wet spot.
Recommendations materials needed for application:
Safety gloves - epoxy can be very sticky
Graduated mixing cups - an accurate measurement is extremely important to achieve optimum curing.
Clean stir sticks - any dirt will end up showing on your product. Stirring is very important, if you whip when mixing you will end up with air bubbles, requires long thorough stirs not.
Applicators - rubber squeeges simple to use and does not leave air bubbles. Foam brushes and nylon bristle brush preferably with epoxy, make sure there are no loose hairs.
A Hairdryer, heat gun or torch - these are used after the pouring is completed and the resin is still liquid. Very smooth ride approximately 6-12 inches above the surface of the compound will burst the remaining bubbles of air.
****************** Cold Weather Warning ***************If your epoxy arrives cold during shipment it needs to beallowed to acclimate to at least 75 degrees Fahrenheit before using.Mixing this product below 75 degrees will increasethe potential for a mixed epoxy resin that will create a wet orsticky sites on the surface. The cold temperature will alsotrap even very small air bubbles when mixing,can\'t always be removed with a torch/heat gun. Warmthe epoxy quickly we recommend the use of either a heat lampelectric heater or by placing the closed bottle of epoxyin a bath of warm water for 30 minutes. Getting epoxytoo hot will lead to faster reaction times, so be carefulattention to what you\'re doing.transparent EPOXY kit
