Original Vintage Super Rare Early Elgin Air Cooled 1 Cylinder 2 Cycle Hit Miss Gas Engine. The side plate is marked \"MFG BY ELGIN GAS ENGINE & MACH CO ELGIN ILL\". It also has the #10 on it. It will be a TEN when restored. This is the only one I have ever seen. I have had this little engine in my collection for over 30 years. Found it at Waukee Iowa swap meet many years ago and had planed to restore it. Other rare engines come first. Flywheels are 9\" diameter with a 1 1/4\" face. Has original flywheel mount flat belt pulley, 4\" diameter with a 2 3/4\" face. It stands 16\" tall to the top of the cylinder. Base is 6 3/4\" x 6 3/4\". It has a recast unmachined aluminum piston that came with it. I have a connecting rod that may work that is included. Has very nice rare 1/2\" Lunkenheimer brass carburetor. Came with a nice nickle plated brass cylinder oiler made by Lonergran\'s dated Mar 31, 85. Glass is good. Cylinder has a welding repair where oiler screws on. Looks like it may of had a fan on one side of the cylinder, has a hole for mounting, fan is missing. Cylinder bore is good. It has chipped and broken fines on the top of the cylinder. Some welding was done before I got it. Base has a corner ear broken and gone. One flywheel has a chipped hub. Missing flywheel keys. Missing 5 of the original high crown bolts. Missing the spark timer parts. Has traces of original red paint on flywheels and block and silver paint on the cylinder.See Photos! This sale is for one Elgin motor.
