Shim die made and used by seller (retired toolmaker) A few punches are missing, but new ones are easily made from O-1 steel with a lathe and surface grinder for sharpening both punches and die plate. USE ONLY a soft (copper) hammer to drive punches. The danger of eye injury is present by striking a steel hammer on hardened steel punches. Copper hammers are readily available and one is NOT included in this sale. Punches range from a maximum of 1 1/8 inches and down. Tool is used to put holes in thin sheet metal if you are a die maker, but the resulting discs can be salvaged and formed by the doming blocks ( silver or brass, for instance) as decorative components. The brass sheet included here is 3/4 inch by .007 inch,
