Blind eye? You castigate an entire forum because you've been too lazy to post your favorite, and who was it assigned to read your mind? You should speak with them directly.

I went to Cactuslocate.com over an hour ago and tried to sign up. I was asked for an invitation code. If you don't have one, mail us, if we have room in the program we will contact you with an invitation. So I clicked the contact us link and the email subject was Beta. I haven't heard from them yet, so apparently they don't want any more folks signing up.

Phranc 05-08-2008 11:03 AM

I guess Cactus isn't interested in allowing any new users in. Still haven't gotten a return email. It's impossible to sign up with out an invite code.

JSanders 05-08-2008 11:07 AM

Phranc, I think you are just turning a blind eye to them.

Phranc 05-08-2008 04:11 PM

I really would like to try them out. I only have 7 GPSes and I certainly need one more to keep track of my where abouts.

maps of israel?

[is any of this software are cover israel?
thx
eli

JSanders 05-11-2008 07:01 AM

I don't know, offhand. You might try them and see, as if I were to do so from the US, it might show Israel, but the mapping application will need to allow access as well from your Israeli carrier.

Tellme causes my 8310 to reboot. Has anyone else had that problem?

Garmin, Mapquest

Hi JSanders,

Nice list but has to be updated.
As I'm on the search for a Navigation SW that works without internet connections I looked to the ones with one time fees only.
Here's my result:

Germin is asking for a yearly fee, no one time buy anymore for BB
Mapquest is asking for a monthly fee now.
Mobile tracker seems to be a Tracking SW only, but I'm currently checking with Skylab.

Update Sept-2008:
Neither Mobile Tracker nor Skylab did answer any of my e-mails ... :-(
Unfortunately had no time to check other options yet.

Cheers
KoH

GolfTraxx

6/16/08 Update. Pearl build released!

We now support the Pearl, 88xx and Curve.

GolfTraxx is a GPS based application that provided the distance to the front, center, back of the green, as well as the distance to reach and carry an unlimited number of hazards/targets per hole. We are community supported, open source, eco-friendly and a lot of fun to work with.

Free if you provide one mapped course, otherwise is a license. Requires a data plan. We have courses on all five continents and many outlying islands. Home

Blackberry Tracking: mologogo.com

I haven't used it in a while, but when I did, it worked well.

The newly announced Garmin for BB lifetime license is $99.00. At first glance, this seems to be a good deal, however, it is for the life of the device and is not transferable from one BB to the next. For many BB hobbyists out there, it could get real expensive, real fast.

The new GPSed interface is really nice.

Non GPS trackers

Am looking for a non-GPS tracker? Any useful links?
.....A sort of CellTrack (Symbian Series 60 platform) for non-GPS enabled Blackberrys. I need the IMEI, Fix Date/Time, CellID, LAC and BSIC "posting" to my own server / port (where I have a suitable listener service running).

Suppose it needs to be C++, deployed to the BB via SDK. Any useful pointers welcome for a newbie like me...

I tried to install Mologogo on my 8310, but the install points to a zip file. Any help on how to install it? I also tried bb.mologogo.com, but that didn't seem to work either. It only 8800 downloads. TKS

locaTags postioning app to add to list

Hi,

One to add:-

locaTags | Location sharing for BlackBerry

locaTags lets you share your location - and what you're doing - from your BlackBerry...

* Tag the places you want to share (eg. Home, Office, Bob's House!)
* Say what you are up to or how you feel (eg. Watching TV, Working or just hanging out!)
* Automatically share on the web - via RSS, Fire Eagle, Facebook, Twitter, Skype and more!

Let your friends know where you are and find out where they are personally, automatically and securely via your smartphone.

You are in complete control of what your friends see, "At home", "Office", "Playing Soccer", "Walking the dog", "Surfing", "Yoga" etc. If you haven't named a place your position will just show up as "Unknown". and you can always "Go Dark" if you dont want to be seen.

If you want, you can add additional location information like zip or post code to a favourite place so FindMe can show your friends a map or directions to where you are. Great for organising impromtu parties or raves :)

FindMe works with all trackball Blackberrys. It does not require GPS or additional hardware.

Only your last named position and the time you were there is shown. No information about your location history is stored or recorded.

locaTags | Location sharing for BlackBerry

Its free, and works on your BlackBerry - No GPS required!

MBW, do you care to edit your post above with some links to their respective sites, and I will then include them in the initial post?

Nice list.
