seems solved
I think from the help of someone above this problem seems solved. Under device properties the address book transfer is enabled I think automatically. Just disable it. And that seems to have done the trick. Well see long term if it works or not.
Thanks! |
I am having the same problem with my new 525i where the connnection will only last 2-5 seconds. How were you able to solve it and have you found any other problems with 7100 and BMW?

Pearl working with 2005 330ci
Hi All,
Just wanted to share that my Pearl is syncing with my 2005 330ci perfectly. Steering wheel controls and phonebook sync'ed just fine without intervention. To the best of my knowledge, getting a blackberry to sync with a Bimmer requires: 1. No "Groups" in your address book. Your Bimmer likes 1 big list of numbers. 2. No "letters" or "symbols" in any "Phone Number" field. "-", "(", and ")" appear to be OK though. Once your phonebook is organized to the car's liking, following the pairing instructions detailed in previous posts and you should be good to go. Credit where it's due: I got this information from reading a pile of posts on BimmerBoard. It worked for me, I hope it works for you. Please post if any of this is incorrect. Good luck, TINB |
"I finally got my Pearl to work with my 750i and it works like a charm. Thanks to some earlier post, I realized that I need to disable the phone transfer and after that no apparent problems."
Does anyone know exactly what "disable the phone transfer" means here? Is this something done on the Pearl or the BMW. I can pair the Pearl with the BMW 530i but can't get the address book built, it keeps failing. |
pearl 8100 Pairing With BMW e90
Has anyone had any luck getting a blackberry 8100 pearl to pair in their 2006bmw 3 series? And if so, did it require a blackberry software update to do it?
Thanks |
I work for a mobile re-seller and we had a few clients who could not connect their devices. After speaking directly to BMW they told me that only certain handsets have been tested with their kits and so the list they publish will only show these. They did say that other handsets will work but they just haven't been tested so they can't recommend them. One of our directors has an '06 3 Series BMW and she is not very techy. She has managed to connect the 8100 to her vehicle and so has another of our directors. My guess is that if you cannot connect properly that there is either a problem with the Bluetooth function on your handset or there is something you're not doing correctly.

Installed the BMW BTUM (Bluetooth Upgrade module)
Hi guys,
Just joined today and saw thsi thread and thought my experience might be of interest. I bought a 2004 BMW 745i last month and it did not come with a phone handlset installed but it had the BMW Assist feature. In researching how to add a BT module for hands free phone use, it turns out that my car was prewired for a CPT9000 phone and V-60 series handsets. This phone system supprots a BTUM in place of the handset so I bought oen used off a BMW discussion forum (New Cars, Used Cars For Sale, Car Prices, Car Reviews, Forums, Videos and the largest automotive community & social network at Roadfly.com) and inastalled it today. The results were great: Installation took 1 minute, pairing it with my BB 8800 worked first time but the phone needed a numeric code that came with the BTUM to complete the pairing process. Once it was done, my phone nos stored in my phone all loaded into the cars memory automatically. Once I browsed the communications menu, I found that the recent calls were saved and displayed a numbers instead of names. Everything worked including placing a call from the steering wheel. |
2006 BMW 325i
I just recently got my BMW 325i and am having a few problems with the Bluetooth option...i can get the bluetooth to connect and address book works fine..its great...when i place a call i can talk for maybe 5 to 10 seconds on the cars audio...then it drops the call back to my handset...when i receive a call it picks up fine...answer it and i start talking and then drops the call back to the handset...still connected to BMW bluetooth but yet drops the call..and i hang up and its still connected and i still can see my address book all missed calls...any ideas? I am fairly good with the blackberry bc thats what i do..Blackberry Exchange Admin...so i dont think its the phone..maybe someone with good knowledge on the car can help...any advice would be appreciate...
