Data Outage - 12/22 - BBM/email/internet
 

I am experiencing a data outage in southern Ontario. Also a report of an outage in northeast Ohio.

I have no PIN or BBM since 2:30 - Bell Mobility, SW Ontario

Seems to only be BBM. Mine stopped working around the same time. Confirmed it with other users on other carriers. Let's get it together RIM. C'MON!

Well my email isn't coming through either

BIS issues in NJ on VZW also.

all pins delayed in SE FL on ATT as well. BES email still flowing.

Email is coming in, but BB browser isn't working. Wifi Hot Spot browser is coming in handy right now.

No BBM on Verizon in Central Ohio. Second time in a week for major BB outage. Not good!

I have email and browser but BBM is not going through to friend who is on Sprint w/ BES. NorCal Vzw.

Interesting how variable it is. Just tested ubertwitter and it isn't working on mobile network. I had trouble updating tripcase, and now know why. PIN isn't working either. But email is working (for me).

Lost BBM....can't get to any Google products either (gtalk or gsync)....receiving email, text, web browsing shot down.

I have no BBM here in Vancouver, but email and web are fine. looks like MSN is down as well.. it looks like it connects, but doesn't send.. Same with BBM I can receive messages, I guess from people on other servers... but not send.(n)

BGR reported a bbm/data outage for all of north america at about 4:00 eastern time.

This kinda makes me want an iPhone....

My BES 9630 has data, but wife's BIS 8330 does not.

I'm thinking about the vzw guy who asked why any vzw customer would need wifi.

Wifi is the bees knees for me right now.

Does the iphone have wifi? Gonna have to look that up.

BB messenger, Yahoo, MSN, AIM all down now for over 4 hours here in the Chicagoland area. WTF is going on man...... US CELLULAR IS MY PROVIDER!!

Well that explains it... I switched my phone to 3G after the longest time and the browser wasn't working. Thought it might have something to do with it, but same thing with Edge.

Oh well, looks like we're playing the waiting game.

I think my Curve's browser is set for DialUp...

Here in Birmingham, AL I'm having trouble with both voice and data on the Verizon Network. My 9630 Battery is draining like crazy due to fluxuating signal strength. Essentially at 1X with 1 bar or 1x and no bars. It might pop up 3G for a second every now and then.

And, of course, I thought it was just me...
No BIS, BES, BBM or PIN to PIN messaging.

Well, yes, of course it is!

I just RUSHED HOME from the mall (when I was trying to use the Internet) thinking my BES was down...and hmmmm...it's running OK but queued mail is climbing for multiple users...

Oh good, it's not just me. I can't browse, get email, or update Facebook on BIS or Wi-Fi. I was a bit baffled when I fired up my wife's Xmas present (Bold 9000) and it could get the www on Wi-Fi. However, the phone hasn't been activated on a network yet so I guess it makes sense that it could surf the web while my Bold (which is active) could not.

This blows. :(

FYI, Bell Mobility, Calgary.

Here in MD, on T-Mobile, I've had only WAP for awhile now. All the BIS services have been down. Can't send or receive email, can't use the IM clients, can't use the BB Internet Browser. I'm posting this using Opera Mini, which is still working because it runs through the WAP data system.

Looks like I might have to bring my laptop to work tomorrow in case this stuff keeps happening. :-/

Twitter is going crazy...you should see some of the tweets from enraged BB owners. I love my BB as much as the next and yes outages suck but I'm not about to lose my mind over it. LOL

Just got off the phone with RIM -- verified data outage / sporadic service affecting the whole of North America. No ETA, requesting an e-mail at the moment.

I got same problems in Phoenix, Az but tethering works fine on tmob.

A BlackBerry outage is something like being stuck in traffic. There is nothing you can do about it but wait. Getting mad or upset doen't make it go away any faster. Although it is frustrating. :x LOL.

Here in Central Iowa I can not connect to any of my apps, Facebook, Score Mobile, App Store, etc.:x

Still getting my e-mail though. U.S. Cellular is my carrier.

I really enjoy my Touch Pro 2 and I never hear of an "HTC outage" so this is pretty disappointing. I have two BlackBerry devices right now just because I found a very good deal but this kind of outage, repeated outage, on the ultra reliable BlackBerry will convince people that these aren't worth the expense.

A Touch Pro 2 and Nexus One combination sounds good to me...I am lookok forward to January.

I see others saying email is starting to come in. Mine was doing so early on, but has stopped altogether now, even with wifi on. Still can browse with hotspot browser. Internet browser is no go even on wifi. Interesting.

Both BES and BIS are affected for BBM, and internet.

Email seems to be mostly BIS users, but I've heard from a few BES users that they are having issues. My BES device is working fine.

I'm really getting sick of this....RIM's becoming as unstable as T-Mobile! ...Verizon Wireless in Philadelphia. No BBM, No Email, No data!

Last email received around 6:11 and a "Test" message I sent at 7:17 popped thru at 7:27, but that's it on the BES side. SMS and AT&T browsing is working. PIN's are not.

Service out in Los Angeles area. Also reports from colleagues in NY and D.C.

Yep. My wife's BIS & both of out BES devices are dead.

Looking at my company's BES now, and a lot of the devices haven't contacted the server for an abnormally long period of time. I see that mine is in communication, but pin & email are dead (send & rec). MDS browser is also dead.

I can send email, but a test message I sent about 45 minutes ago has been received 3X now. :x

No BES/BBM/BIS in the Chicagoland either, Now I have to actually call somebody.

Finally logged onto our US BES and the Pending Data Packets is slowing increasing, although not as high as I would have expected it to be. Maybe BES was only recently affected.

Pacific Time 4:33pm last message received near Seattle area. Called T-mobile, they said it is global, they've had reports of outages to them for past 5 hours, no ETA. Sent some test messages, long delay before getting the red X.

i called over an hour ago before i got home to check the net i told the tech no BIS or BES or data and he said email should not be affected which is not true. anyway as long as they know about it.

BIS and ALL DATA has been down for close to 4 hours for me here in Northern NJ (Morris County)


come on RIM...this is pathetic. first BIS went down last week, and now ALL DATA is down? right around the holidays? come on..........:?

Wow, twice in a week, half day outages. To what do we owe the pleasure? Perhaps RIM is clearing the network for Santa to communication with his elves. Obviously Santa uses 3G

I think its time to rethink RIM. Been a blackberry users for 6 years but the iphone is starting to look good now.

Spoke with RIM and Verizon, outages here in SoCal since approx 4pm

just checked on my BES, we havent had contact between the BES and the handhelds since +/- 17:30 est. i was worried it was my bES but telus set me at ease, right now our 10 blackberry curve and tours are all bricks.

Well this sucks rocks - no BES since 17:30 EST. The CEO wants to switch to iPhones - hard to argue if the BB service dies likes this.

The ultimate insult has been my wife with her iPhone getting all data services. She has no clue what she's doing, but she knows she's doing stuff that I'm not. RIM has had enough data outages lately that their uptime CANNOT be equal to the data provided by the carriers to non-BlackBerry devices. Their once-bulletproof services now looks like a slice of Swiss Cheese. Hey RIM - welcome to mediocracy.

Screwed up on and off all day. T-Mo, WA, Curve 8900 using BIS. No email even over wifi/UMA.

I've been wanting to try an android device, I've had blackberries forever, but it's almost time to move on, even the new bb phones are feeling dated in comparison to the alternatives. And what's not to like about a phone that is so much more open? Java + BB Security stuff (n)
