8800 Really marketed for big Corp and Govt?

If you think about it with all the security concerns these days in big corporations and govt jobs, with not having a Camera RIM has really made sure it listens to its base customers...

What has me concerned working in Top secret and classified areas is the 8800 expandable memory card feature... I guess being RIM you can only please so many big customers but expandable memory is not allowed at all.

Infact some areas even the phone or device is not allowed in those areas so who is RIM really listening to!

What i dont understand is why not just expand the internal memory by 2 or 4 gigs and just allow transfer of files via USB as you would anyway with sticking an SD card in a card reader....

Cost. 2GB internal memory would cost a lot more than a 2GM microSD.

The microSD can be disabled via BES policy for those that want to.

Any USB thumb drives are everywhere - how many people actively restrict them and not by policy, by enforcement.

The FBI can't even keep track of laptops. How will they keep track of USB hard drives :O

Oh trust me they restrict them and search in some areas... maybe the type of security you have seen has been half assed but most TS areas are not like you think...

even if the BES admins disable that feature doesnt mean some clever person will not figure out a way to get around it and even if they dont removable media is what it is...

i dont know about the FBI but i do know things happen and its not common no matter what agency or industry.

Yes, we read about classified data "missing" on a regular basis.
It is a huge and uncontrolled problem.

What worries me is the stuff that our goverment has missing that we have NOT heard of. I would be willing to bet that there are few secrets anymore. I just hope we are doing the same to our enemy!

As so many hate the USA, I hope we make sure we remain strong enough to defend ourselves when they come for us. We are trading with China who is getting billions of our trade dollars but allows us to only to sell a few million bucks of goods back to them. The goverment is slaving their population and spending the profits on weapons.

Are you listening Hillary?

Got a little too political here....
