Bbm disappear and trackpad frozen. Help please!
 

My bbm disappear after i upgraded it to the latest version of i-don't-even-remember-the-version. I try to installed it again but in Bb apps world, i says that 'bbm installed'. How do i settle this problem? Please help me. And now my trackpad is frozen. It couldn't move anywhere. Please. i love my Blackberry.

Try this. See if BBM shows as an installed app in device options. If so, delete it. Then install BBM using desktop manager. Afterward, go back to app world and upgrade if it shows upgrade available.

Worst case you may need to re-install the OS. If you do, just selectively restore your personal data and not settings. So skip the automatic backup/restore and do a manual backup beforehand.

And don't double post.

With the device on, remove the battery for 30-60 seconds. Put it back in and let the device reboot. Does that fix the problem?

aiharkness,it might work out as you help me in your reply for my bbmessenger but now my trackpad isn't working. Without the trackpad, none could i do now. So probably i should send it to the store to repair ain't i? Sorry to bother. Thanks a lot for the help. Btw, is Z10 ok? Fully touch screen ay? How much do you pay for it?

Dubdub, I've tried a few times. but it doesn't work. Plus my trackpad isn't working. Thanks for the help.

Did you get the device wet? A nonworking trackpad is symptomatic of water damage.

I've never soaked or let my bb fall into water at all but little, very little splash of water might be in a few times. So that is the problem to my phone is it? That's why my trackpad didn't work? Sorry to bother with my undying problem, but now I've placed my bb without the battery in front of a fan. Does that help to dry any water that has been stuck in there? Thanks a lot dubdub.

Any water can damage the device. Putting it in front of a fan will not fix it. If that was the cause of the damage, it is irreparable.

You may just have a faulty trackpad. The possibility of water exposure means it could be water damage. A little water is all it takes, and the damage is done if not dealt with immediately.

You could try replacing the trackpad. If you can do it youself the cost might be worth the chance that is all it takes. But there's the risk there is more damage than just a bad trackpad.

I had app world on the brain when I posted this. This happened to me with that app and the above is what I had to do.

The first thing to try is a battery pull, as Dub says. I tend to doubt that is the fix in this case. If so, then the next thing to try is see if BBM shows as installed, delete it, then reinstall from app world.

Thanks again though. I couldn't make it work due to your suggestion above as my trackpad is the first thing i need to solve first. without it, none i could do to fix the bbm. Thanks again friends. I'll just go to store to get it fix then. Thanks again friends.

My guess is the water did you in and it is goner. Water and electronics do not mix at all.

Yeah. I wouldn't spend any more than the cost of a trackpad and change it myself.
