Invite Attendee/Calendar/Email Issue

Hi everyone,

I have a perplexing problem with my calendar and I cant seem to find anything relating to it on the forums already. I have an 8700c with 4.2 OS and my issue is with the invite attendee option. The past few days, I’ve been trying to create an appointment and add two of my friends as attendees (both have gmail email addresses). When I add one of my friends, the invite is emailed to him with no problem. When I try to invite my other friend, I’ll get an email back in my inbox (with a red X by it) that says that there is an invalid email address. I looked a little closer at the message and it appears that my calendar did not email him like it was supposed to, but rather in the “To” field, it added the current date and time I created the invite…so it looks like its trying to email a date/time rather than an email address. I’ve tried to reset my phone, resend service books, and send invites to other people to see if I get this problem. So far, nothing has seemed to help. I can send invites to anyone else without problems (including other gmail addresses), but for some reason I only get this error when trying to email/invite his particular email address. Any ideas/suggestions how to correct this? Thanks!

I would delete that particular address contact and create it again from scratch and try it. Sounds like it got corrupted somehow. that's my best guess.

Are you referring to an entry in my address book? If thats the case, I don't have my friend listed in my address book at all. I never used to have this problem...it seems as though it just started happening a few days ago.

Any other suggestions?

you have sent a test e-mail to that address to verify that it is correct?

Yup. When sending a regular email, I have no problems...the problem is only when I send an appointment invitation.

that is mysterious. I tested it with a friend's gmail and it worked fine. have you tried sending an appt to him only - not including others?

I tried that as well....actually, thats what I was doing when I first started to notice the problem. I've tried to send the invite to him alone, with a group of people, etc. Nothing seems to work. When I send it to a group of people, it will send the invite to everyone EXCEPT him. I just don't get it. I'm about ready to just reinstall the OS in the hopes that corrects any corrupted file.

Dump the person as a friend. : -)

Seriously, is there any rule or filter within g-mail that can be causing this?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Nothing I can think of....my other friends who have gmail accounts have no problems receiving invites.
