Does the 9790 have enough memory?

I'll say. I didn't even realize that the 9790 had a touchscreen.

It even has the same tiny battery as the 9900 to make the user experience worse.

on the contrary the battery life is better on the 9790 than the 9900. i had the phone for a week but eventually got rid of it cause it was slower then the 9900 and it didn't have os 7.1 at the time.

Re: Leaked OS 7.1.0.247 for the 9790

This is interesting, because I have to get a replacement for my 9700. But all reports I read wrote that the phone does not survive a full day withe one charge.
I had a 9900, but since it only had battery for 8 hours, and I also was annoyed by the touchscreen I sold it.
The keys on the 9790 looks like that the chance to touch the screen when using the trackpad is less then on the 9900. But I simply wont buy anything which forces me to always carry a second battery with me.

How much runtime did you have, and what usage of the phone ?

Re: Leaked OS 7.1.0.247 for the 9790

Apparently I am also hearing that this model has an added bonus of going into "Battery Saving Mode', not sure if it is true, can someone confirm. While in that mode, apparently, battery life is really increased. I have still not seen this device in the wild.

Rumour and Speculation at this point. I'll try to find some confirmation.

can anyone please post the new battery saving mode app..ie (net_rim_batterystretch.cod)...so i can try it out on my 9900

thanx!

Re: Leaked OS 7.1.0.247 for the 9790

Adding the cod to your device will not work. The battery saving functions are integrated with the OS. So unless you are hiding some alx/sfi editing/configuration skills, I would suggest waiting for the leak.

Hi chicken. Did you recently come off another BB model? If so, how do you like the 9790 so far? Running well? Know a few who are interested in it, but not ready to pull the pin on buying one until they see more in the wild...LoL

Yeah, it seems to me that on the battery is better on the 9790 than the 9900. But for me that's the only reason to buy it, the other features are better in 9900 ;)

Re: Leaked OS 7.1.0.247 for the 9790

Hey ZombieBerry, I did come from the 9360 and before the 9780 ... Some new features like the Blackberry Device Analyzer are great, to monitor / run checks on the network, battery, device responsiveness and so on. It takes a moment to get used to the touchscreen ;-) I've had some colleagues having issues with the defaul 7.0 OS - where the the berry was opening like a ghost menues, applications and so on ... with the "update" on the leaked 7.1 is better but definitely not yet 100 % - battery is better than the 9360 obviously - but the master of devices for us is still the 9780. Stable and reliable, still best battery ...

One great feature of the 7.1 is the WiFi Hotspot, so while travelling you can connect easily any devices via your berry. 7.1 is also out for the 9900 just recently installed on another device.. of course that will eat again the battery - which is a constant discussion...

A few of my friends have picked one up. They seem pretty happy with it. Especially the HotSpot feature. They have slightly better battery life averages than I do with my 9900.
