Are you worried to connect to an open wi-fi network?

I have the wi-fi calling feature enabled on my 8900, and am loving it. Everywhere you can find a wireless network, you have unlimited calling and fast internet on your blackberry. However, are you worried about the security aspect of it?

I have already connected to open wi-fi networks at Panera bread, IKEA stores, and other open residential networks that I found to be open. I would NEVER do the same thing on my laptop, since it would be easy for hacker to hack into my computer. However, I figure that as long as I don't log into any sites through web browsing (because anyone could sniff the network traffic and see account logins and passwords), I should be relatively save on my blackberry. Is that a false sense of security? Are you worried, or are you connecting to any open wireless network you can find?

No, UMA is a secure connection to the UMA Network Controller.

It's not "easy" for a hacker to hack into your computer via a shared wireless connection. Your firewall still protects you, assuming you have a firewall and have it configured correctly. Sniffing packets for passwords and such is another story..

I'd be happy just to find an open wifi network!!
