No EDGE (only edge) and other problems
 

I have a Cingular branded 8700c.

I was trying to install a spell checker last night and ran into all knids of problems. I called their tech support and told me to uninstall the program using the desktop install tool advanced option which removes everything from the Blackberry, backing it up first, and then reninstalls without the application that you wanted removed.

I went through that procedure and now I have multiple problems and Cingular tech support and my work IT support are not available today (Sunday).

Here are my problems:

1. I cannot get and EDGE connection, only edge;

2. I am not activated on the my BES;

3. I do not have any Internet icons (usually have 3) on my desktop.

4. Do not have the add a personal email account icon on my desktop; usually do.

I have tried everything I know, including renistalling the OS and then restoring from a backup I had done before I got myself into this mess.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Does EDGE only show up once activated on my BES?

pull out your battery, leave out for about 10 seconds..put battery back in, let it boot up

go to your BIS cingular site( from your computer).login, and resend service books

Thanks! That did it; all I need now is the password from my IT folks to reactivate BES.
