issue w/9650 v6.0.0.2647/6.0.0.600
I loaded up the new new OS -- slick, uneventful install. But one issue buggs me-- the new message indicator will not go away. I've done the usuall; deleted all emails; check saved messages; deleted all texts; several battery pulls --- any ideas?

Look for a saved email that you may have not opened.

Are there any new features or fixes that make this update worth installing? I couldn't find the change logs anywhere for this update.

Sprint usually does and even they haven't, so I'm confused. The funny thing is, when you go into the downloads page on Sprint, they have this update, but I can't get the update specifically through their device update website.

Re: issue w/9650 v6.0.0.2647/6.0.0.600
I put this on my Verizon 9650 and suffered with it for a couple days. The radio absolutely sucks on Verizon. Constantly switching to 1X and roaming with data connection loss.
It was also VERY sluggish in all respects. Horrible and I went back to the official VZW release this afternoon. Much better. |

My battery life with OS 6 has suffered from day 1. I want to stay with 6 because it's the future but I'm not happy with it at all. I just uninstalled DexRex (message backup app) that's been prompting warnings about expired certificates, thinking this might be killing my battery. If deleting DexRex doesn't help I'm saying screw it and going back to OS 5.

I guess I've been lucky. I've been running OS6 on my 9650 practically since the first leak was posted here, and the majority of them have been good.
The radio on mine works fine - 1X hasn't shown in ages, and the battery life is fine for what I do (wifi, GPS, FB, Twitter, BBM, emails & a couple calls). Nothing wrong with the phone, but at this point (in my head) its just a placeholder until the 9850 is released. Gonna give that a test drive, and if I can't adapt to the touchscreen keyboard, I'll swap for a 9930. |
