My Faves is the Stupidest service offered by tmobile

I was under the impression you needed a t-mobile phone that was "capable" of having my faves. I was wrong, you need a phone with the software when you purchase the phone. This is the stupidest service tmobile has ever offered. They make you purchase a brand new phone with the sofware even if you have a phone that is already carried with my faves. Makes me want to switch back to Cingular.

CableGuy711 10-01-2006 12:26 PM

i dont see why u cant do an OTA update with the new software

brianlamar 10-01-2006 12:30 PM

Well, whoever i spoke with said I had to purchase a brand new phone. Dumb service

flash24 10-01-2006 12:44 PM

yea.. it's stupid because it only support certain phones.. greed.

NJBlackBerry 10-01-2006 12:46 PM

And the 8100 is on that list, and there are even FAQs on the T-Mobile 8100 web site regarding using this service.

Call back and speak to another rep.

brianlamar 10-01-2006 12:48 PM

I don't mind them supporting certain phones but they support certain phones that you purchase from oct 1. The bb pearl is supported but i would have to purchase a new bb pearl with the software already installed in order to me to use the service. Thats the dumb part.

ggoodale 10-01-2006 12:50 PM

Even with all that, I still think Caller Tunes is a dumber service. :)

brianlamar 10-01-2006 12:51 PM

:) Well at least caller tunes can be used with phones already purchased. LOL!

Not true.

Call TMO and have them add MyFaves to your account....

But wait until 10/2/06 to call.

brianlamar 10-01-2006 12:57 PM

I hope so. But I just spoke to a t-mobile representative (there sooo smart) and she told me I would have to purchase a phone with my faves software already on it.

NJBlackBerry 10-01-2006 12:58 PM

You are really having a bad day between Myfaves and the new themes. Sit back. Watch some football ;-)

brianlamar 10-01-2006 12:59 PM

:) Thankx!

Not true. I spoke to a rep today(unrelated problem) and we discussed the myfaves and it will be available tomorrow as long as your phone is compatible. No need to buy a new phone. They are still unsure about when the .51 OS update will be available though.

topspeedtop 10-01-2006 03:55 PM

myfaves is available now. i just signed up for it.

Please don't comment on the intellect of others until you learn how to correctly use the word "there".

Sorry for the flame, but just because you aren't getting what you want from T-mobile, you don't have to belittle the CSR.

Not sure how you did this.. I spoke to 3 reps and I was told the plans aren't even in the system until 10/2. If you added the plan online it will not take effect today.

andrews240 10-01-2006 09:28 PM

I can't even add the plan online because I have a family plan. Also, according to the MyFaves FAQ blackberrys aren't compatible with Myfave

Quote:

Can Blackberry®, Sidekick®, or handheld users subscribe to myFaves?

No. At this time, these devices are not supported by the myFaves service. This may become available in the future.
Even though when I click on phone support it states that the pearl is a Myfaves phone.

What gives?

CableGuy711 10-01-2006 11:02 PM

the Pearl is compatible, and I've seen it in person. The TMO rep who sold me my phone showed it to me last week.

thought 10-01-2006 11:08 PM

If you look at the T-Mo website, it clearly identifies the Pearl as being a myFaves compatible phone...

SanFrancisco 10-01-2006 11:40 PM

Anyone who thinks that MyFaves will NOT work on the hottest new phone on the market, that just came out three weeks before MyFaves is offered, is not thinking clearly.

Why on earth would T-Mobile, who got the exclusive rights to distribute the Pearl, and RIM, not make the Pearl compatible with MyFaves?

You must be getting a T-Mo rep who is new or does not understand what is going on with the Pearl.

And does anyone seriously think that T-Mo would say "Ha ha, that Pearl you bought three weeks ago, that just came out, is NOT compatible with MyFaves, you have to buy a new Pearl!"

Come on people, use common sense.
