Ready to Buy, Please Help! 7290,7105t
Hi! I am ready to buy my 1st BB for personal use only. I will be checking several email accounts on it, probably with light to medium usage.
I am going with T-Mobile b/c they offer the least expensive data plans. Do you recommend a 7290? Or 7105t? I know the 7105t is newer, however, I really prefer the look of the 7290 and the full keyboard. Please advise! Thanks so much. dlg  |
I have never used the 71xx, former 7290 now 8700 user. That said, I believe the 7105 is more phonish and the 7290 more BB with a full keboard. If you are looking for a phone with access to email then a 7105 would be better for you, but if you are looking for BB email with some phone capability, then a 7290 would be a better choice. I would suggest trying them both and see what feels better to you also.

DLG:
Have you seen that Cingular is selling 7290s (refurbed) for $69.99? Yes, I know that the service is more expensive than TMO, but there is someupside with the coverage over TMO plus the $200 + you save. I have had the 7105t for over a year and really prefer the 7290 keyboard, but will miss the speakerphone, and am probably opting for the Cingular deal. One thing I can not understand with Cingular that is gnawing at me is that their taxes are higher than TMO's. How the heck they can be different from one carrier to the next is beyond me. |
Thank you both for your responses!
I think I am leaning more towards the 7290, as I plan on keeping a separate cell phone for at least the next year/year and a half. I will mostly be using my BB for email. CyberJ...I did see the refurb ones at Cingular. I'm a little bit reluctant to buy a refurb (maybe I'm crazy!). But...it would be a huge savings, so I won't rule it out just yet. I look foward to any other opinions... Thanks! newbie! :-) |
