shortcut keys on the 7100

I just moved from a 7510 to the 7100i. Is there a way to assign applicatoins to shortcut keys? Like on the 7510 you could hit the 'O' and bring up the Options, or 'M' and bring up messages. I really miss that.

You cannot assign keys on the 7100 other than the 'convience' key (between the green and red phone keys.

PocketDay and/or PocketDay Pro can provide you with a number of single-key shortcuts, including messaging, applications and speed dialing, amongst others.

That is a definite draw back of the 7100. I had a 7250 and I loved the fact that I could just press a button to get to an application that I often use. Maybe that will be something thats available on the next software release. I also realized that you can't have key tones on the 7100i. Or am I just missing it?

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

ygr keytones setting is in the edit profile menu. I've been trying to find s way to use shortcuts on the 7130 for a few weeks now and there's just no way that I can find.

Shortcuts were purposely removed on the 71xx series because "it's a phone" (according to RIM - when I complained about this on the first day the T-Mobile 7100t was released)...

I'll give these a look. Thanks to all for the response.
