BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.328 (Multilanguage)
This is from Verizon Wireless, and will work on any 9530 model by following the directions below.

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9530:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

SMS is probably my favorite change. Upgrade was super easy

anyone see a decrease in free memory? I was runnin .151 before and had 33 Mb now i have 27 Mb after battery pull

also anyone know how i can remove visual voice mail trough a mac?

Does anyones else have a problem with the icon that is in the first slot in Portrait mode?

It seems have no space between the icon and the text below it. It only happens when in half portrait mode and only the first icon. The icon and text are bunched up.

I cannot find BB 5.0. It shows it installed on the App World but I cannot find it int he Instant Messenger. Does anyone else have this concern?

I might be late to the party...but I am so glad they brought back the Today Mode for device settings. The theme control, sms, and overall feel is much better than any version previous.

It kinda reminds be of my RIM 920.

Here's my official "me too"! I got home after watching some football with some friends and was delighted to see the update ready! One thing I just noticed is the return of being able to choose how many times the ring tone will play! Very nice! And the keys and the entire device just seems snappier!!

The only problem I'm having is I've got a "new message" indicator with a "2" on it. I can't find where the unread message is! I just did a battery pull, thinking that would clear it...but alas...nothing! Anyone have any suggestions?

hey does anyone else have an issue with an unlocked to tmobile with EDGE going to edge? I've tried all the "tricks" but it seems to not helping.. any suggestions?

I am NOT a Storm user but I am glad the phone was addressed in light of OS issues when it was released last year.

One thing I did notice this AM after upgrading the OS is now my BES messages have their own mail box YEAH

i only upgraed 2 days ago to the leaked 323 .should i upgrade to this realease .will i see any benifit thanks

Could someone please point me in the right direction on a change log for this.. I am running 4.7.0.148 (last official release).. I would like to know what is new/updated before I go and upgrade..

* On some rare occasions, the device may reset on its own during a voice call or while idle.
* During an MTP side load of 16GB of music, the device would leak memory and stop the transfer at ~75%.
* During device full boot-up, the progress bar skips from 0% complete to ~66% complete instead of showing a gradual progression (Note: from 66% to 100% it does show a gradual progression).
