Software Update: BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 smartphone (Available starting 10/15/2010 at 6pm EST)
Software Update: BlackBerry® Boldxxx8482; 9650 smartphone |
Will it be an official OS6 release????
|
Nobody is saying...
|
As we are still on EDT here on the east coast of the USA last time I checked, does that make this available at 5 pm EDT?
|
BIS 3.2 might hit this weekend as well.
|
Read the link, shows 6:00 PM EST. http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/bold.pdf
this shows The BlackBerry 5.0.0 Release 1242 (Platform 5.0.0.732) not a 6.0 :( |
Update is release 1600 (5.0.0.975)
I can log in and download the release. Its 5.0.0.975. The PDF still shows the 732 update notes. No idea what the new version brings.
Sucks its not v6 tho. |

https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html/w...n/document.pdf Logged in via www.blackberry.net/go/vzw and looked at the support pdf. (The link above). I checked it last week and it was still 3.1 |
This release seems pretty snappy so far, although I was pretty happy with .732. I'm just hoping this fixes the signal bounce that was present in 732 & 810. It's been killing me!

Whats up with adding a sticky .975 thread? It's been out for several days and isn't listed up top for 'the masses'.

Your link was removed. My hope is that you wil be contributing positively to the site. If so, please fix your BBF profile |
My verizon phone is trying to do a "wireless updated" push of this - is that an okay thing to allow? Says it might take up to 2 hours...
|
That's fine. Also fix your BBF profile to indicate the 9650
|
Done, thanks :) I'll let it run the upgrade.
|
One question: during the upgrade, it said it was backing up my data (where was it backing it up to?). After the upgrade, it said it downloaded my data. Everything was fine with primary applications - my background images were still there, phone book, preferences, etc. However, some third party data was missing. It was random - one application still had all the data I had entered for it, but another application (an ssh application) lost all of my connection settings. Is this expected?
|
Anyone have any idea when Verizon will issue OS6 for the 9650? It seems that Verizon has given up on RIM and is concentrating all of their marketing efforts on Android phones. Verizon has no new BB phones announced and nothing new in many months.
