BIS marking messages as read when polling Exchange?

I have a user whose mail gets marked as read every time BIS polls her Exchange 2003 server.

I understand that this: Messages are marked as Read after you download headers in Exchange 2000 Server is the problem, and is a known issue with Exchange 2003.

Anyone have a workaround or solution?
