CDMA BlackBerry Model 7250 is coming. (Yes 7-2-5-0)

There is a CDMA BlackBerry model 7250 coming soon.

It is exactly the same as a 7290 except it uses CDMA.
All features, smaller size than 7750, Bluetooth, etc.

Finally. About time to replace the slow dog of a 7750.

Thank you Mark. Now when should I call Bell?

bperkins 01-20-2005 06:08 PM

Will Verizon get this too?? If so, when?

I heard end of February

They are in the infamous "testing phase".

However I've heard rumor that it's going to have
Bluetooth
EVDO
A little Smaller
Native Internet access
IM Clients included
Enhanced attachment viewing

I'm chomping at the bit to get it since our org is getting ready to deploy to our sales force.

I hope it also has a speakerphone and they add additional Bluetooth functionality. At least let me xfer address book to car. And I HOPE IT IS FASTER!

From what I've heard, there's no speakerphone. And the Bluetooth that it has available, is only for Car Kits and Headsets. No File Transfers.

sprint and verizon will offers these should be released within the next week or two. as stated before it is identical to the 7290 no speakerphone, but it has bluetooth and all the other goodies.

I just spoke to a rep on the business side at VZW. He mentioned that the retail release date was February 11th, but the device should be available in the business channel on Monday. He was careful not to make any guarantees, but said that Monday should be the day on the business side.

I heard the same from our Business Rep. except she said that it was due on 2/1, which does not make that much sense since VZW usually releases new phones on Monday (1/31).

I was planning on buying it only if it comes with a browser. If not, then I will continue to use my Cingular 7290 and deal with the spotty coverage.

Does anyone know or have an ETA for this model to be available for TELUS Mobility?

I just purchased a 7750 unit last week and I am covered under the 30DAY money back gurantee. If the new model comes out within 30days, I will return my 7750 and purchase the newer model since it has BT and other new features.

Let's not forget the 7250 also comes with a GPS chip only found on the 7520 thus far.

Make that two of us.

ChristopherRI 01-31-2005 03:02 PM

Well it is encouraging to hear that others have ordered it as well. That makes my confidence even higher that it will arrive tomorrow. :D

Accordian Man 01-31-2005 04:32 PM

What wireless carrier did you guys order it from, if you don't mind me asking? Was it Verizon or Sprint? Also, any news on it being ev-do capable?

NJBlackBerry 01-31-2005 04:42 PM

It's available from Verizon.
Sprint still has their BB training wheel on :)

sbagdan 01-31-2005 05:58 PM

I have a friend who dropped BB because T-Mobile didn't work at his house, and Verizon did, but he didn't want the old clunky one they had.

This is GREAT NEWS. He can now Dump the POS Treo 600 he got, and get back into the REAL WORLD with a Blackberry.

Guess I will have to educate him on Bluetooth :D

mikejb 01-31-2005 07:22 PM

Call me crazy, but how did you order it? Blackberry has not got any information on their site about it? And I am no jealous.

sbagdan 01-31-2005 08:31 PM

Call Verizon BUSINESS Sales, they will sell it to you!
