My 8310 and using it in China
 

Hello everyone, hope you can offer me some assistance in using my blackberry in China, I am using China mobile and just buying cards monthly for services so first off I do not have a a post paid plan with data services, however i am able to browse the web using a prepaid 15mb plan.

I cannot get email unless i log on to sites like gmail through the browser which is very inconvienent.

I am not able able to use GPS maps, I have tried loading serveral different services but cannot seem to get a map to load, I have tried turning on the gps and if gives me a reading but maps dont work.

I was thinking that for getting my emails that i could sync the BB with my outlook express using the bluetooth and at least be able to take my emails with me but no luck with this also.

Finally i would like to get excel on my bb so if anyone has any good advise on how to do all these things please send over whatever you can. As you can see i am trying to make everything work without paying any extra costs.

dataviz.com has Microsoft doc support apps. I think you need BIS for all the rest of that stuff which is why it isn't working for you.

Pushmail can hardly be used in China now, for the reason of mobile company. However, you can receive you gmail on your BB by installing a gmail client.

Gps can also be used in china. The fashional gps client is GPSLook and google map is also available. In china ,you have to look for a space without too many buildings to search sattelites, before you can enjoy your gps application.

Excel, word, and powerpoint documents can be viewed. You have to install a third-part software first.

I cannot supply those softwares to you, because they are in Chinese. Chinese people often go to 52blackberry.com for some information and softwares on BB.

pushmail can be use in China now ,but only for enterprise subscriberxxx12290;

if you want get email,you must have gprs Data Services,that services provide by China Mobile.

when you have gprs seves,you can install the latest google maps V3.1 in you BB. this software supports GPS.

if you want use word,excel and pdf etc,you can install "Dodocuments to go ".it is very convenient.
