vzn 7250 battery half life

the first 7250 would sometimes last about a 36 hours of standby with about 20 mins of voice usage, no web browsing. blueth on always but no headphone nearby for much of the time (i'd forget to bring it)

verichat on but no chat activity

battery bar would show 3 bars until just before the battery would die.

Othertimes battery would die after about 9 hours.

Vzn send me a new 7250. Battery bars down to 3 after 8 hours, 5 mins of voice use. Status says 45%.

seems the battery status is not too accurate

status went from 45% to 5% in about 2.5 hours of standby w verichat

I'm making an exception and moving this to General, for increasing the traffic of this poll, since I think this is important data to collect. I am curious about the 7250 battery life!

I have had mine off the charger now for 28 hours and I am on the phone ALOT and I still show 3 bars for battery. I am not running anything special, yet at least just bought the thing a couple days ago

Battery seems good to me so far

I run Bluetooth on all the time. Pair several times a day either to my car or headphone, several long conversations of 30 minutes or more and still show 3 bars at the end of the day. Yesterday with lighter usage but Bluetooth on all day it showed 4 bars at the end of the day.

Verichat kills my 7250 battery. With Verichat connected, even without chatting, I get about 6 hours before it dies.

With Verichat off, battery life is good.

I ran all day yesterday and battery was at 92% at the end of the day. It seems to be getting better. I'll see how it does today.

I run Verichat although not 24/7, and have never had a problem with battery life. I charged the 7250 overnight Saturday night, ran Verichat for approximately 3 hours Sunday, was not able to top the battery off last night and still show 4 out of 5 bars of battery life.

WEIRD

my battery indicator shows 4 out of 5 bars.. but the status of the battery says 65%.. this doesn't sound right.. been only 2 days, but i find the battery life great with all the talking i do, if it really isn't at 65% right now....

Mark Rejhon 03-02-2005 03:15 AM

Interesting! It seems that there's a problem with Verichat draining the 7250 battery abnormally fast;

This may be a BlackBerryOS bug, since it is supposed to idle in standby mode whenever no data transmissions are going.

Hopefully this will be fixed by PDAapps eventually, or by a BlackBerryOS upgrade.

Do you get the same rapid-battery-loss-problem with, say WebMessenger from http://www.webmessenger.com ?

Actually the more I use this thing the more I realize the battery is not that good. Took it off the charger yesterday morning and by 3 the battery was dead. Like I was saying before I use this phone ALOT for work, I soend most of my days in the field working on problems while trying to get other projects off the ground!

barjohn 03-02-2005 09:43 AM

My battery life seems to be getting better. It is at 4 o ut of 5 bars at the end of the day. (Going off the charger at 8:00am and back on around 9:00pm). However, BBToday program says the 4 out of 5 bars is 65% which seems wrong.

Mark Rejhon 03-02-2005 04:17 PM

I don't remember the exact numbers, but it seemed to go like this:

5 out of 5 = 81-100%
4 out of 5 = 61-80%
3 out of 5 = 41-60%
2 out of 5 = 21-40%
1 out of 5 = 5-20%
0 out of 5 = Under 5%
