I have my old work BB 8800 but it's blocked

Hi,

I have "inherited" my old work BB 8800 o2, but I cannot make calls on it with a new o2 sim card.

Also issues with the BES, I will get to that later maybe.

But for now is there away of unblocking this BB to make calls or is it just useless?

I can still use my old sim on it, but I only get data. Gmail, browser etc all work fine, just can’t make calls.

Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forums.

It's possible the phone function could be blocked by an IT policy.

Probably blocked by the security policy.
Search for how to remove security policy on the boards - there is an excellent thread on how to do that - i know it works - i also had my old work 8800 and did the same thing.

4.5 OS and JL_Cmder will solve your problem.

Hi,

I did the whole 4.5 OS and JL_Cmder things with no problems.

I tried to load Opera keeps giving me a firewall error messasge "inside and out of firewall somthing to with the IT policy" ?

Also BES is still on, I would like to use Gmail...any ideas.

I can send texts and make calls on the phone as I could not before so this side things are working.

Did you do the Reset to Factory option?

No?

Do I do this after of before, or can I do it now?

Since your BB connects through BES, the IT policy blocks the phone function and ability to use any third-party application not approved your IT administrator. There is no way to get around it since your IT admin can push the IT policy periodically.
