Dead Pixel Syndrome
I hate to bring this up if you have not looked closely at your 8800's screen. I have returned 2 8800's because they had a few dead pixels. Personally I find this very annoying as I spend 99.9% of the time looking at this great screen. Well on my third one, I once again have a dead pixel. To some this is not a big deal, but I personally hate it. I am going to deal with it this time. I am hoping by applying a screen protector it will hide the dead pixel to some degree. I did a little research on google to see what causes dead pixels and if they are common which I find they are. I also find it interesting that there is a acceptance policy per manufacturer to what is acceptable to ship to end users.

It's the same with computer monitors. They have a certain number that is considered "acceptable."

My eyes stink even when I wear glasses so I usually cannot notice the dead pixels on monitors. I guess it would bother me if they all died but so far I haven't noticed any on my BB.
It would, however, drive me crazy if I did notice them so I understand where you are coming from. |
Good Grief, I need to hold my 8800 at arms length to read a email without my glasses!
