New to Mac

I am now using a PowerMac; I have been a Windows user. I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac; I opened up the application and connected my 9700 to the PowerMac...nothing happens! How do I synch my BB to my new computer?

What OS are you running on the Mac?? Need to be running OS X 10.5.7 or higher.

hmmm. Maybe it doesn't like the Power Mac. I don't have a problem on my MacBook Pro.

Maybe delete DM and reinstall.

Also try a battery pull on the BB.

Re: New to Mac

Okay...I found a solution on the Blackberry site...not great but better than nothing. It appears you have to start a 64 bit in 32 bit mode. You hold down the 3 and 2...I tried and it worked. I wonder if I use Microsoft Office for Mac would I have this problem??? :?

Re: New to Mac

DM has problems syncing with the 64 bit version of Office 2010. The latest Windows version of DM supposedly fixed it. Don't know if Mac DM 2 works with Mac Office 2011 or not. I am still using 2008 on my Macs because I like it and it works for me.

Strange...I do not have Office on my Mac. Starting in 32 worked; you would think RIM would fix this issue with DM for Mac.

Thanks for theying to help.

Re: New to Mac

We Mac users are relatively low priority for RIM. There just aren't that many of us, and Apple would rather have us using iPhones.

Hey, Steve! Are you listening? From my cold, dead fingers.

Well if they don't get some of their problems resolved I will likely be moving to an iPhone when my contract is up and the iPhone 5 arrives (whenever).
