My BB Storm is "dead"

Hi all,
greetings from Germany. Seems I have a big prob.
I tried to update my firmware on the BB STORM and during doing so the Desktop Manager hung up. I waited many minutes but the only choice I had is to restart my PC.
After that the BB Storm is dead, only the red lamp is blinking. When connecting the device via USB there is the typical "connection sound" from the PC but the device itself is not identified.
I removed the battery for some hours . . . nothing helps.:x
Has anybody an idea?

All the best
Hans

Hey handi. There is a really helpful article on Crackberry that tells you how to reload your operating system on a nuked Blackberry. (One of their 101 articles). Just google it, it's easy to find and worked for me when same situation happened to mine that you're experiencing.

Sorry can't give you the link due to posting restrictions. Hope this helps!

Welcome to BBF!

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

Follow this method to wipe and reload your OS. Make sure you have the OS you want to install on the device downloaded also.

What is "many minutes?" This process can take up to an hour at times. Rebooting your PC prematurely could have caused the issue. Follow the steps that rachamphetamine stated. If it doesn't connect, there is a link in that article called "What to do if JL_Cmder won't connect to wipe." Click that link and try those steps.

Be patient and all should work out for you.

Good luck (y)

Did you try doing the upgrade using Windows 7 beta ?

This sounds like a problem some have had w/ Win7...

Regardless follow the instructions above to use JL_Cmdr
