Blackberry Dead after Wipe

I was attempting to switch from being a Cingular WebClient to a BES user through Mailstreet.com. I was able to complete the Enterprise activation and all data (contacts, tasks, notes) seemed to migrate with without problem. However, my calendar would not sync for some unknown reason. I contacted mailstreet.com support who had me do a WIPE of the handheld. The wipe went on for about 45 minutes and never finished. The tech support person had me remove the battery which did not help either. I am now stuck with a white screen, spinning hourglass, and a red blinking LED. I have been stuck this way for about 2 hours. Cingular indicated I have a defective unit and wants to replace it by shipping a new one to me. This means I will be without a Cellphone/Blackberry for several days. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

You can probably us the javaloader to wipe the unit and restore the OS. Do a search here and you will find it. It's easy to use...I'm quite sure you will be able to restore your unit...it's quite rare that a unit dies from a wipe...

Have you tried getting the RMA info from the carrier and heading to your local store. They should be more than able to get you up and running within minutes..not days.

That has happened to me many times. I just let it sit. Eventually it will come back to the normal screen, although if you get the Rectangle box with three shapes inside (circle, square and triangle) then you should be able to reload your OS with the DS.

If you want to erase all data including the O/S, run this while the Blackberry is connected via the USB cable to your PC:

javaloader -usb wipe
C:\javaloader -usb wipe

i'm trying to help a co-worker do this. after trying to connect to the device for a while it gives up. any idea? does a password matter? if so, what would the correct syntax be?

never mind. i plugged mine in and used the same command. it prompts for the password. i have to assume the device is hosed at this point.
