Help: i have gone and ahead and jammed the SIM card in the microsdn area of 8820

Hi

I am a newbie to blackberry, and i did'nt read the getting started manual. I assumed the SIM had to be inserted in the microsdn area...(i thought the sim card locations in mobile phones are all the same) and i have gone and ahead
and managed to get the SIM card stuck between the gaps above the microcardn SDN slot.

Help me, is there a easy way of removing the SIM card now?

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!

thanks
muktha

There's no way the SIM would fit in the MicroSD card card slot... the SIM is just TOO big and wide compared to the MicroSD card.

Are you sure you really jammed it in the MicroSD area? If you somehow did this, do the best you can to remove it, and IF you fear you are going to damage the device in removing it, don't proceed... take the whole device to your local carrier where you bought the device and ask them to remove it. If they damage it, perhaps they will replace it, but I wouldn't promise or expect that.

Good luck.

I don't recall the size differences but when I was attempting to remove my 8830's sim card from its PROPER slot, I needed to use a tweezers since I could not grab it with my fingers, or finger nails.

Good luck.

If the 8820 is like the 8830 (I think it is), then the SD slot is really a metal FLAP with hinges whereas the sim card slot is a gap or slot above the battery compartment.

I've got an otterbox so checking it out is a major hassle.

Here's a quick picture showing the proper position of the SIM Card and MicroSD Cards:

Yes... get a pair of tweezers. Pull it out, and insert it correctly :)
I'm with JSanders on this one...
