Playbook black screen

My playbook screen has frozen for no reason. It is black and will not reboot.
I did not update the OS so I am not sure why this has happened.
I have tried every possible way to get it to work.
When i press the volume buttons it makes a flash sound like a camera taking pictures. My pc recognizes the playbook and can read all the data on it.
The screen is just black.
I dont know what else to do. Any suggestions?
If I cant get it started Im tipping it in the rubbish heap as this playbook has been a nightmare from day 1. First and last BB i will every buy.
Any help is appreciated.

Did you try holding power button AND both volume keys? If it takes a screenshot (camera shutter noise), you're not getting all 3 buttons at the same time.

If you can plug your device via HDMI to an external screen, if you see the content then my case your playbook need to be fixed. Because if it did the picture taking sound then it is NOT turn off. So it's a display problem (probably).

I had that happen on one of ours. I discovered that apparently a person can hold the power button down too long. A reset then just holding down the power button long enough to hear the Click solved it.

Just a thought.
