I would like to be able to open .icf files in the BB. That is a fairly standard extension for Outlook Calendar entries. We use an external CRM that emails Calendar entries in that format.

Any hints would be much appreciated.

Not happening; that is an Outlook Calendar file (I know you know). Since the BB does not run Outlook, it isn't happening.

Mozilla Thunderbird with the new Lightning Calendar extension supports .ics files.
This is a drawback on the blackberry as it forces you to sync to Outlook, whether you like it or not.
