Ok I got a 7100V from Germany Vodaphone. Cingular SIM works and 7100V is not locked. But it is in German and I cannot tell how to get it in English. Someone from Germany help?

Easy. Flash it with Tmobiles software for the 7100T :) Check out the 7100T review thread for the link to the software. |

How do you like it so far?
What were you using before? Did you order directly from Vodafone or have someone get it for you in Germany? |

7100v
I like it very well so far.Still getting use to the keyboard.I ordered it direct from Vodaphone with no service.Put in my SIM card from my 7280 from Cingular and it worked.Do you think it is safe to load Tmobile apps as suggested?
|
I wouldn't, personally.
Mainly just because I'd be afraid I'd lose the Vodafone theme! Which, by the way, I'd love to have, if someone knows how they could extract it. Orrrr is it in the 7100v handheld software? I should brush up on my German! |

Would I lose any functionality with the Vodafone software installed, and would I lose my data? How would I go about doing it? (I have not yet bought the Pocketmac software, but I have access to a PC to load stuff onto my BB.) Thanks! |
you could probably use javaloader to extract the .cod from the handheld if you dont have the handheld software, but you probably do on the cd.
After you install the handheld software, goto the Program Files\Common Files\RIM\shared\7100_versionnumber folder then the Java folder there will be a net_rim_theme*.cod there for vodaphone. I downloaded the software linked above and found net_rim_theme_tmobile_240x260.cod assuming you could use javaloader to load all three onto the same handheld either version t or v but I dont have either one yet so I cant test it :( |
I don't have any trouble using T-Mo software on my 7100v. I think the Vodafone theme is bad, the in-built sucks. So I installed the T-Mo software to have the "original" Blackberry theme on my 7100v.
Someone here interested in ordering 7100v? Perhaps I can get a good price (I know RIM's Vodafone sales manager here) if I take more than one ... |
BTW, I loaded the theme with the small icons of the 7730 on my 7100v, works great and looks good :)
I have now 3 themes: Standard (delivered with the 7100) Standard (the 7730 small icon theme) Vodafone (delivered with 7100) I can switch easily between them ... If anyone wants to have the Vodafone theme or the small icon theme, just drop me a PM |
themes how did you load them?
I did install the 7100V software on my T and found a cod files that was obviously a VF theme. Then I read on this site that the only way to load it on to the bb was to put it on a web site and save it with the browser. So I up loaded it to a web site and tried, but all i got was a message from the browser saying that the file was too large to load.
Got any tips? cheers larbs |
Installation is very easy, use javaloader.exe (there is a link in the blackberryclub-forum). Put javaloader.exe and the .cod file in the same directory on your PC (e.g. c:/) and launch a shell. Type
javaloader.exe -usb load net_rim_theme_blackberry.cod and tap enter. The file will be uploaded to your blackberry device. Then go to "Options"->"Theme" on your device and choose the vodafone theme. That's it. Cheers Oliver |

Small icons theme looks good on the little 7100! Can't wait to try the 7100v theme.
