Updated unlocked Bold 9700, now no BBM (think it is BIS related)
 

OK, here's the issue. I have an unlocked BB9700 that I use with a B mobile sim card (from Trinidad). Got the BB service turned on while I was there, everything was fine. Came back to the states, everything still ok roaming on AT&Ts network. BBM would work when I was on wifi, which I expected. I updated the dvice software from 5.xxx. to version 6.0 Bundle 2949. After the update, phone works, can send and receive texts, can browse the internet on wifi. However, I cannot send or receive any BBM messages; I tried to register the BB, but nothing happens. I tried calling b mobile in Trinidad, but they were of no help. I'm wondering if because I am roaming if that is the reason that I am unable to register the phone - I would hate to think that I have to send the phone back to Trinidad to have it registered there. Any suggestions or workarounds welcomed!

Just tried to do it. Step 1, no good. Step 2, "registration message queued. It will be sent once data coverage is available". Step 3 - I went to the Bmobile/TSTT BIS site and tried to log in, but don't know what my account password is (I don't think I ever set up one?). Just in case, I tried to retrieve my password using my PIN, and it said "Password sent to Blackberry", but I haven't received anything...seems like I'm stuck :(

Could be because you are roaming on At&T. Does B Mobile have a roaming agreement with them? I assume that you are still using the B Mobile SIM which has BIS activated??

I assume so, just because when I get to the US it automatically selects AT&T (2g) - if I try to use any other network, I get "emergency calls only"

Edit - I confirmed - as per their website, AT&T is one of their romaing partners
