MDS Problems

Any BES Admins out there that can help me with the following?

I've installed BES 3.6 for MS Exchange and the mail service and attachment service are working fine. I can't get the MDS service to start and each time I try I get the following error in the log:

<##date## ##time##>:[8]:<MDS_##servername##>:<ERROR>:<LAYER = MDS, Invalid zipfile The system cannot find the file specified>

RIM's site has been no help, and I'd rather not have to join their TSupport program if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

How might I go about correcting such a problem? Any suggestions?

When you try to start the service from the Windows Services screen, what is the error message and error number you receive?

When I start it, it appears to start, and then immediately dies. In the error log, it gives the message in my first post, along with an Event ID of 15000.

Which service pack for BES are you running?

3.6 SP3

Hmm....I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the MDS portion. You can do that by modifying your install.

It worked. You're awesome.

A reinstall? I just threw that out there because nothing else came to mind

Honestly tho, a simple reinstall fixes alot of MDS and Attachment issues.

I had tried a update/repair install earlier and that hadn't worked, but the removal and reinstall did. Sometimes you just have to be grateful that something works, and not question it too much.

Yea, I know the feeling with some of my servers. You thank god nothing goes wrong, until it does.. then you swear your head off while your fixing it.
