CES - Tour 2 (Essex) - No info!
Just came back from CES. I must say I was very disappointed in Blackberry's booth. All that was displayed were currently released models and after asking three booth reps, none of them had any information regarding the Tour 2 and they all said they had never even heard of it. They said, we know what you know from our website. Then why spend money and have a booth at CES unless they're instructed not to release any info but again, I though that the booth would be to push upcoming models and prototypes? Other vendors for other products did. However, RIM wasn't the only booth that only displayed current models with no info for future equipment. Pioneer, Garmin, and a couple others did the same.

rumor in other forums is stating 3Feb as approximate release date.

This year?
The demo devices for the 9650 has shown up in both Verizon's and Sprint's systems....so fingers crossed it will be soon. |
Several threads on this. It looks more likely that it will be a Q1 release. I can get my upgrade in May so I am as anxious as many other VZW users
|
It would be nice if Sprint finally beat Verizon to the finish line on something!

They lose more customers per month! </cruel, yet accurate comment> |
Such hate in your heart.... may the force be with you.

I got a Tour1 from work, absolutely great device. I can't wait for the Tour2 on VZW (sprint is crappy in my area) I can't see upgrading to a new BlackBerry without Wi-Fi either so hopefully it's soon!
|
Ill get the tour 2 if it comes out in feb. I love my 1 but i am a geek and must shell the cash out for the 2!
|
hmm feb almost over and no tour2 im starting to think it doesn't exist

Don't strain yourself... When a carrier releases it, you'll know about it.

You have a couple more days to hit the half way point. |
I believe Sprint to get many phones out before the others...

Release of Essex (9650) delayed due to VZW having issues with 5.0 os for 9630 thus not releasing the upgrade.
Once 5.0 is released by vzw for 9630 then you expect the 9650 to be available. Crackberry has an extensive section of threads on this. |
