Blackberry Maps
I recently did a wipe of my phone, but my Blackberry maps did not reinstall.
I went to blackberry.com and had the link sent to me, and downloaded the file. It was called "lbs_ribbon", and installed as such, but no maps was made. I've looked in all the folders, and it's not there. Did I download the correct file? Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
Re: Blackberry Maps
You should have had BlackBerry Maps in the list of applications to add/remove with desktop manager....Did you look?
And by the way, if you are on AT&T be aware it hides BlackBerry Maps from users. It will be installed, just not available to you directly. If that's the case do a search. There are work arounds. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
Re: Blackberry Maps
I will when I get home (I was hoping I could just get it OTA. I'm at my sister's, hovering over the stove with knife & fork.
Happy Thanksgiving by the way. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
Re: Blackberry Maps
BTW, does that mean I can uninstall that file I downloaded then?

Re: Blackberry Maps
Not sure.
I know--or at least it's the way I remember--that on 4.x OS versions the LBS app was BlackBerry Maps. On 5.0 I see BlackBerry Maps and no LBS. I guess if it were me I would first connect to desktop manager and take a look. It will show you what is installed. Are you on AT&T? (I can't see your profile.) OK, had to come back to the house for a few, and decided to check that out.
You were right. It was in the DM. I just reinstalled it. Thanks! |
