Need to unlock your Torch? No Problem. Horizon Wireless can do it!

Some of you already know, but unlocking the new Torch 9800 is no problem via Horizon Wireless.

I just had mine done and had the code in no time! (Seems to be a common thing for me.. ATT phones unlocked via Horizon Wireless)

Torch 9800 working awesome on Rogers Wireless!

Yes, I know for a fact they have already unlocked several in the same scenario.

I hear a "rumor" that if you unlock an AT&T 9800, it will lock again after a software update.

Any insight if this is true or not?

JSanders 08-27-2010 04:35 PM

No. Once unlocked, it remains unlocked, and I know for a fact that the carrier lock on the Torch does not return after a OS upgrade.

Thanks a lot. This is reassuring, as I have two AT&T units on their way to me.

Same issue...

They unlocked mine two weeks ago.
Maybe try this link - go right to their home page and not some obsolete product page

This isn't hard. Right there on the home page.

The link is broken. Try it...

These guys worked for me perfectly. Their charge is also the lowest I have seen around at only $9. It took about 1.5h to get a response but it worked like a charm first time around.

I have received in the last day two private messages on my BBF mailbox offering me a 50% discount to unlock my phone, at another provider.

I thought BBF had an exclusive agreement with Horizon.

Having had AT&T unlock 2 previous BB's for travel, I was a bit irritated when they refused to unlock the Torch...(n)

Re: Need to unlock your Torch? No Problem. Horizon Wireless can do it!

Has anyone heard what ATT’s policy on this is officially? They unlocked my 8820 and 9700 the day I got them but recently have warranty-exchanged my (unlocked by ATT) 9700 for a 9800 Torch. I am now being told by ATT (after the fact) that RIM has an exclusivity contract with ATT on the 9800 and that ATT is unable to unlock any 9800 phone.
ATT has said the same thing about Apple’s iPhones however they unlocked my wife’s first two iPhones (her iPhone4 is on the way).
Do I have to go to a 3rd party to get these things unlocked? I am a dual citizen and ATT has always been good about this – I travel quite a bit and need to know my carrier will support my needs. My wife and I have been customers since the Cingular days.

Thx for any thoughs/input with regards to getting ATT to legitimately unlock either a new 9700 or a 9800.
