BBWeather Issues?

I have been using the latest BBWeather 0.84 Alpha (2009-02-28 16:01:48 PST) on my 8830 for months. This morning, I started seeing the following error:
Error - Current Conditions Thread:
Missing XOAP 'link' parameter in request.
Has anyone else seen this? Is it possible that there are provider issues?

Yes - others (including me) are having this problem today.
It is not provider related.
I would bet that Weather.com changed the format of their XOAP feed (they've done it before) resulting in this error.

I have the same issue and am using the same version. I would expect that weather.com has either a problem with their feed or have changed it. Hopefully Tateau who fixed it before will be able to fix it again.

Thanks for the confirmation. BTW, by "provider", I was referring to the weather data provider (e.g., weather.com or the like), not cellular carrier.

My wife and I are getting the same error. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

how very annoying. :(

scottjb 07-07-2009 09:26 AM

Hopefully it's as simple as a Weather.com issue that will be fixed. However, I tried going to the author's Web site (www.tateu.net) and it appears to be offline now.

Was just getting ready to come in and post the same question. Guess the good news is it isn't just me!

mikadad 07-07-2009 11:38 AM

i even uninstalled it and reinstalled it and no luck...must be from the server feeds

RadHaz75 07-07-2009 12:01 PM

this is absurd! its been 5 hours since someone first posted and this issue is still not resolved!

i paid $0.00 for this app and i expect to get every penny out of that in support!

seriously tho, hope someone has the time to fix this. best free app ever

NJBlackBerry 07-07-2009 12:03 PM

Yes, how very annoying that the free app which works great (when the supplier doesn't change the feed) no longer works. How annoying for the free app.

BB Weather / Error

Good afternoon. Yesterday I was here because after installation I couldn't get the app to work. JSanders helped me and in no time it was up and working. Worked fine all day until I shut the phone off. Today it's not working. The desktop icon shows a sun with N/A inside it. When I click on the icon, this is the message I get when it tries to retrieve the weather:

Error-Current Conditions
Thread:
Missing XOAP 'link' parameter in request

I did install BB Extralight and BB FreeTips after I got it working yesterday but it was working afterwards.

Also can locking the bb stop the transmition of data, because I keep it locked.
Please Help!

Four threads open on this one problem. What's the over/under?

The feed from xoap.weather.com must have changed. It is a data provider problem.

Mahogany 07-07-2009 12:36 PM

Ok! now I'm lost. What does the below mean and what do I need to do if anything?

The feed from xoap.weather.com must have changed. It is a data provider problem.

NJBlackBerry 07-07-2009 12:37 PM

You need to wait for someone to fix the BBWeather program to use the new data feed. There is nothing for you to do.

Mahogany 07-07-2009 12:39 PM

Ok thank you NJBlackberry. I thought I broke it.

R-Rizzo 07-07-2009 05:22 PM

Per his forums, Tateu said if he has time he is gonna look at the problem later this evenings. Let's all remember that he doing this out of the kindness of his heart (I.E. Free) so there is a measure of patience in order.
