What the hell is wrong with this man?

Pat Robertson links Haitian earthquake with "pact with the devil" - baltimoresun.com

My heart goes out to all of Haiti and the folks headed that way for disaster relief and recovery but this is too much. How can anyone really think like this?

djm2 01-13-2010 08:17 PM

I had not seen this prior to your posting; thank you for doing so.

The man is fundamentally sick, yet powerful enough to perverse the opinions of many. What an abomination. This is the same sort of stupidity that allows people to deny the Holocaust.

Wirelessly posted (well lookie here!)

Djm2 pretty much summed it up

How he could even say such a thing is beyond me! Pat robertson is right I'm my backyard literally 15 minutes away. Now I am even more angry with him

He's a tired delusional old man. Who should be ignored.

Note that's 'wack', not 'waack'

This guy is unbelievable. Reminds me of the insensitive comments Sharon Stone made when there was an earthquake in China a couple years ago.

False Prophet

My opinion is that Pat R falls into the catagory of "False Prophet" as none of his prophisies have come true. In true biblical fashion he should be executed like John the Baptist.

The truly scary part is that idiots continue to give this nutjob money.

Perhaps TV preachers should be taxed, now that's an interesting thought.

No my point was that John the Baptist was foretelling the future and after the community gave him the allowance for the different calenders they executed him as a false prophet as what he was predicting did not come to pass. Since none of Pat R predictions has come though allowing for the different calenders he should be treated like all false prophets and executed. If you read about the "Great Disappointment of 1844" you will read that the idiot who foretold the end said that he initially goofed because of the calender problems and reforecast the end. He should have been executed too as a false prophet. Unfortunately the people nowadays only want to take part and not the whole package. I think it is because the "Babes in Christ" believe what they have been taught and not what the text actually says. John the Baptist was a trained Zadokite priest who took over after his father was killed. Pat R worships money and promotes the salvation for cash scam.

For those of you who are not aware of the calender issues I strongly suggest you go and do some research. Another hint is that people in the text can have various names and titles depending on their "state".

The Straight Dope

If any of you are interested there is an interesting article in The Straight Dope today about the history of Haiti and some of the "devil" issues. Worth reading.

see you say none of his proclamations came true, I disagree he foretold the coming of jesus Christ and I and many others across the world say that it in fact happened.

TBOLTRAM 01-19-2010 07:21 PM

He was another end of worlder and when his prediction did not come true the second time (allowing for the calender issue) he was terminated.
