Web Desktop Manager with IE9

This is so frustrating...

I have recently installed BESX 5.0.3, but it was doing this on the last service release.

Each time I try to log-in to the Web Desktop Manager or the Administration Service, it keeps trying to install the communication component, even though it's already installed.

So as restricted users can’t install this, I extracted the MSI file from the CAB file and installed it using a GPO. This works fine, but when they try to open the web desktop manager, it tries to install again. So they click 'No' and it won't talk to the phone, even though the component is installed.

Admittedly, we are using Internet Explorer 9, but RIMS knowledge base states that they support IE9 with some limitations, but this problem is not listed.

Any ideas?

Looks like RIM forgot to list a problem. ;)

This has been resolved in MR1.

It now comes with the new communication componant, so the BAS and WDM now detects the installation.

Panic over...

Uninstall IE9. It's going the way of Vista by the end of the year because of all the problems they are having with it, it breaks things even in Server 2008/R2, things that MS simply can't fix without re-writing IE9.
