Blackberry hopeful in Brazil

I have an unlocked 7100T. I used it just just for a phone and fancy rolodex for a month with Cinguluar before heading to Brazil. I am using TIM as my service provider here in Salvador. Everything is prepay here. I think data is just a little more expensive than talking. I can use SMS to locals and talk on the phone, but can't figure out how to get anything else to work. I really want to check my POP3 mail with it. Can anyone help? I don't speak portuguese so well and the TIM.com.br website isn't in English...i gathered that there is help on that site from a sales rep, but can't find the info, other than Blackberries are supported. If anyone has experience with TIM a bro in Salvador, Brazil thanks you.
Greg

I lived in Sao Paulo for a year. I had TIM while down there. However, I did not have a Blackberry at the time. I did everything while there and not on there site. I thought there site had a English translated version.

I can't find English anywhere. I'm in Bahia (BA in the dropdown).

Interesting. Can somebody help you translate the site?

Poking around the TIM website, I can't find anything on Blackberry service. It would be hard to believe that they don't support BB.

Google has a language translation site, and from what i can gather, the TIM site is in portuguese. Just do a copy and paste into translate.google.com and make sure you use portuguese to english translation. I don't read portuguese, but I can tell that it isn't in spanish or french.

I found they support the 7230 here:
tim.com.br/portaltim/homebusiness/0,1618,24O0O14O2450O2451,00.html
I don't see anything about POP3 however. If the 7230 works, does that mean the 7100 does as well?

Actually, if I travel to Brazil on business, will my Cingular 8700c or Verizon 7130e work??? I mean, I know the phone part will, but how about my BES. Does anyone know????

I understand Portuguese and still cant find info on Tim site. they are very disorganized. try in a Tim Shop but it has to be one that belongs to Tim and not a franchise.
