Downloading skype

I was wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to get skype working on my 8820?
I tried to download Iskoot but was informed on their forum that you needed a data plan which I currently dont have.
Is it possible to use skype or download it if I dont have a dataplan?
I;m open to any suggestions as well as to what I can do to use skype or something similar to without a data plan?

thanks.

There is no SKYPE client for the BB.

Please use the SEARCH function, as this has been asked many, many times.

You need a BB data plan to download directly to the BB. Otherwise, download to the PC and use DM/Application Loader to install apps.

Skype contacts to BB

So its not possible to use skype on the BB, I have unlimited calls anyway so no real need for it.
But is it possible to copy my skype contacts directly onto my BB 8900?
I have over 500 work contact numbers and have saved my contact list from skype to my hard drive(not sure what program to open it up with though) and now need to transfer them onto my BB.

Is this possible?

Do i need an application to open the file up?

Anyone out there wondering the same?

Actually you are wrong on that one...iSkoot is a skype program for BB...and it works great as a beta...

ISkoot / Skype

I used ISkoot for awhile and it is a nice client for Skype chats but it has a lot of wrinkles that need to be ironed out.

Plus it uses your minutes as I have heard and read and is not a true SKYPE application.

isn't there a way to synchronise skype contacts with outlook? you can then synchronize them from outlook to the BB afterwards
